Tin opener

Opening a tin of beans with one hand is no longer a major operation now that I have a one-touch can opener. I can literally just rest this can opener on top of tins, press the button and it whizzes around the tin all on its own and stops when it's done.

The only downside is if the batteries go while it's in the middle of opening it's a bit tricky to get free.

I noticed somebody left a comment on YouTube that it doesn't work with ring pulls - it does, I just turn the tin upside down!

Amazon's Kindle

Great things about the Kindle:
  • I never get eye strain as it is like reading paper
  • I can adjust the text size easily if I'm tired.
  • It's so much less fiddly to press a button than it is to turn a page, the pages can't stick together!
  • It's light and easy to carry
  • Small enough to put in my handbag
  • When I'm lying in bed on my side I don't have to keep repositioning a Kindle as I do a book
  • Brilliant for reading outside - the wind can't blow the pages, making me loose my place.

Not so great things about the Kindle
  • One can't lend to or borrow books from friends at the moment.
  • If I dropped a Kindle in the bath it would be expensive!!
